As you probably have noticed already, colours are coming strong in Scandinavian interiors right now. The traditional white walls are more and more often painted in muted shades of green, blue, pink, grey and beige. I have a soft spot for the colour green, which gives any room a fresh and calm atmosphere while connecting with the outdoor nature.

The home of Maliin Stoor is one of the most creative homes I've ever seen. I actually wrote about it already back in 2010, but was reminded about it today as the house is now up for sale.
More or less everything here is designed by Maliin herself: the architecture of the house, the interiors and some of the furniture. There are loads of creative ideas to be inspired by, starting with the way she has used basic untreated materials like concrete, plywood, MDF and rusty corrugated iron to achieve an original and raw look. La maison de Maliin Stoor est l'une des plus créatives que j'ai jamais vue. En fait, j'en avais déjà parlé en 2010, mais je m'en suis souvenu aujourd'hui en voyant que la maison est maintenant en vente. Plus ou moins tout ici a été imaginé par Maliin elle-même: l'architecture de la maison, l'aménagement intérieur et une partie du mobilier. On y trouve plein d'idées créatives pour s'inspirer, à commencer par sa façon d'utiliser des matériaux basiques non traités comme le béton, le contreplaqué, l'agglo et la tôle ondulée rouillée pour donner un air brut et original à la déco. Enjoying some nice real estate inspiration from Stadshem tonight... Home staging is a great thing, but why do all apartments have to look the same? These photos are from several different apartments but it could just as well be the same one. Personally I like this neutral white-grey-wood-black palette very much, but surely there must be other hues that are just as "commercial"? And variation is nice right?

Ces photos viennent de plusieurs appartements différents, mais ça pourrait aussi bien être le même. Personnellement cette palette neutre en blanc-gris-bois-noir me plait beaucoup, mais il doit certainement y avoir d'autres teintes tout aussi "commerciales"? Et un peu de variation est sympa non?

Had enough of white walls? Want to go with the current trend and dare a darker shade, but not yet ready for midnight blue, moss green or dramatic black? Go for grey. As neutral as white, less gloomy than black, and easier to work with than a colored wall.

You might have seen this apartment around already, but I'm showing it here anyway because it's a great example of what is happening in Scandinavia right now (well at least in Sweden): bye bye white walls, hello dark colours! Well, walls in muted tones of blue, green, grey or even black are now popping up everywhere!

Vous avez peut-être déjà vu cet appartement, mais je le montre quand même ici aussi parce que c'est un très bon exemple de ce qui se passe en Scandinavie (ou en Suède au moins) en ce moment: bye bye murs blancs, hello couleurs foncées! Et bien, les murs en nuances éteintes de bleu, vert, gris ou même noir font maintenant leur apparition un peu partout!


In order to keep a feeling of space and light despite the dark walls, the trick is to go for light furniture, a decluttered decoration and leave ceilings, doors and windows in white. You can also paint only the lower part of the wall or leave some walls white to avoid overloading. Details in leather, wood and rustic ceramics add warmth to the room, not to forget the green plants.

Pour garder l'impression d'espace et de luminosité malgré les murs foncés, l'astuce consiste à opter pour un mobilier clair, une déco épurée et laisser blanc les plafonds, portes et fenêtres. On peut aussi peindre que la partie inférieure du mur ou laisser certains murs en blanc pour ne pas surcharger l'espace. Des détails en cuir, bois et céramique rustique apportent de la chaleur à la pièce, sans oublier les plantes vertes.

Swedish stylist Lotta Agaton's Stockholm apartment is up for sale, which means we get to see some new pictures from her stylish home, yay! I obviously can't resist posting a few of them here... Now I can't wait to see what Lotta will do with her new place, but according to her inspiration boards, the colours will be a lot darker.

L'appartement de la styliste suédoise Lotta Agaton à Stockholm vient d'être mise en vente, et par conséquent, on a la chance de voir de nouvelles photos de son superbe intérieur! Evidemment, je ne peux pas m'empêcher de publier quelques unes ici... Maintenant j'ai hâte de voir ce que Lotta va faire avec sa nouvelle maison, mais d'après ses planches d'inspiration, les couleurs seront bien plus foncées.
