Artilleriet is a fantastic interior design shop located on the Swedish west coast, in Gothenburg. In order to celebrate 5 years of existence, they just opened Artilleriet Studio, a whole apartment decorated with the most perfect mix of old and new. The exhibition is open until 29th of October so don't miss out if ever you're visiting Gothenburg before that. Raw walls, beautiful wide floor planks, dark veneer elements and a few industrial details make this space feel more like New York than Stockholm. Still that's where this two storey flat is located, for sale here. Love this kind of cosy minimalism.

This is exactly what the talented Riikka Kantinkoski and Pinja Rouger did when they were running out of space for their plants. Their beautiful Botanic shelf is a multifunctional storage solution for green plants and other objects. I've always been a huge fan of maps and globes, so when Mapiful contacted me to create my own map poster out of a favourite place or city I got super excited. Should I pick one of the many places where I've lived, Adelaide perhaps... or rather a city that I love returning to, Barcelona... or maybe somewhere I've never been but dream of visiting, like San Francisco..? In the end, I actually didn't manage to select only one place but had to pick two...

J'ai toujours été une très grande fan de cartes et de globes, alors quand Mapiful m'a proposé de créer mon propre poster à carte à partir d'un lieu ou d'une ville qui me tient à coeur, j'étais surexcitée. Est-ce que je choisis l'un des nombreux endroits où j'ai vecu, peut-être Adelaide... ou plutôt une ville à laquelle j'aime retourner, Barcelone... où éventuellement un endroit que je ne connais pas encore mais que je rêve de visiter, comme San Francisco..? Finalement, je n'ai pas réussi à choisir seulement un endroit mais j'ai dû en prendre deux...


First I decided to go for Hudiksvall, the town in Sweden where I was born, where my parents both come from and where the majority of my family lives. Although I actually didn't grow up there, it's still the place I always return to and where my roots are.

J'ai d'abord décidé de choisir Hudiksvall, la ville en Suède où je suis née, d'où viennent mes deux parents et où habite la majeure partie de ma famille. Même si je n'ai pas grandi dans cette ville, c'est toujours là que je retourne, où se trouvent mes racines.


Secondly, I couldn't resist making myself a map of Paris too. I've lived in and around this city for the last 25 years, so this is clearly where I feel at home. Also, besides the emotional aspect, prints of Paris always look stylish so I knew that a Paris map would be a nice addition to the wall above my couch.

Deuxièment, je n'ai pas pu résister de me faire une carte de Paris aussi. J'ai vecu dans et autour de cette ville pendant les 25 dernières années, c'est donc clairement où je me sens chez moi. En plus, à part l'aspect affectif, les posters de Paris ont toujours la classe et je savais que celui là trouverait facilement sa place sur le mur au-dessus de mon canapé.

Natural materials play an essential role in Nordic interiors, whether the style is traditional, mid-century, minimalist, modern etc. It's the key to achieve a warm and welcoming atmosphere despite the bright white backdrop that often is the starting point. In this example below, the stylist has used birch, rattan, cork and linen together with earthy colours like terracotta and grey-green clay to create a soothing decor. And of course lots of green plants.

Les matériaux naturels jouent un role essentiel dans les intérieurs nordiques, que le style soit traditionnel, années 50/60, minimaliste, moderne etc. C'est la clé pour réussir une ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante malgré le fond blanc immaculé qui constitue souvent le point de départ. Dans l'exemple ci-dessous, la styliste a utilisé du bouleau, du rotin, du liège et du lin, avec des couleurs terreuses comme la terre cuite et l'argile gris-vert pour créer un décor apaisant. Et bien évidemment, plein de plantes vertes.

And while I'm at it, I'd gladly also take the Sirlig cork bench from IKEA, the My spot hanger from Menu, the beautiful wall hanging - Ferm Living has something similar - and all the green plants (to replace mine which tend to die all the time...).

Et pendant que j'y suis, je prendrais bien aussi le banc Sirlig en liège d'IKEA, le porte-images My Spot de Menu, la jolie décoration murale - Ferm Living propose quelque chose de similaire - et toutes les plantes vertes (pour remplacer les miennes qui ont tendance à mourir tout le temps...)
