To furnish and decorate a newly built flat and make the show home feel inviting, lived-in and trendy, well that really isn't an easy task. Marie Ramse works for Swedish housing constructor JM and masters the exercise perfectly. On the blog Hitta hem Marie shares both the process and the final result of her work as well as the work of other decorators with whom she collaborates regularly. Below you can see the latest realization, a lovely flat decorated in a light palette of white, grey and powdered hues together with light wood.

If you haven't had enough of brass yet (I haven't!), here's a nice and simple idea for making your own bed headboard. Choose a large brass sheet that is slightly wider than the bed, then match with trendy muted pastels (like the green shade on the wall here) and soft textiles in linen and wool to add warmth. Si vous en avez pas encore assez du laiton (moi non!), voici une idée simple pour fabriquer une jolie tête-de-lit. On choisit une grande tôle en laiton un peu plus large que le lit, puis on l'associe à une palette tendance de pastels grisées (comme cette nuance de vert sur le mur) et des textiles douces en lin et laine pour apporter de la chaleur. More and more furniture brands are launching their own accessories collections these days, and I'm happy to see that also a traditional brand like Fritz Hansen is following that trend. Tous les mois, le blog norvégien NIB (Bloggeurs déco norvégiens) lance un défi aux bloggeurs et instagrammeurs norvégiens qui consiste à partager un bout de leur maison sur un thème précis. Un(e) invité(e) d'honneur sélectionne 10 finalistes parmi lesquels un gagnant est voté par les lecteurs.
Bien évidemment, toutes les photos ne correspond pas à mes propre goûts, mais peu importe, je trouve que c'est un excellent moyen d'encourager la créativité et le partage d'inspiration!
Voici quelques jolies participations au challenge de septembre où l'idée était de créer une ambiance chaleureuse d'automne à l'aide de bougies et de plaids.

Every month the norvegian blog NIB (Norwegian interior bloggers) challenge the Norwegian bloggers and instagrammers to share a piece of their home on a precise theme. A guest judge then selects 10 finalist among whom the readers vote a winner. Obviously not all entries correspond to my own taste, but that doesn't matter so much as I think it's a great way of encouraging creativity and inspiration sharing!
Here are a few nice entries from the September challenge, where the idea was to create a cosy autumn feel with the help of candles and blankets.

J'aime bien la façon dont on a utilisé la couleur dans cet appartement à Malmö: des petites touches de rose et d'orange vifs sur un fond neutre, avec une déco murale en noir&blanc qui empêche l'ensemble de devenir trop "mignon". J'aime bien aussi le mélange de métal chaud et froid: laiton et acier.

I like how colour has been used in this flat in Malmö: small splashes of bright pink and orange on a neutral backdrop, with black&white wall art that keeps it all from getting too "sweet". Also like the mix of warm and cold metals: brass and steel.

J'espère que vous avez passé un excellent été! Comme vous avez pu le constater, j'ai pris un peu de vacances... Après avoir passé quelques semaines en famille en Suède, je suis de retour à Paris depuis hier soir, mais seulement pour refaire mes bagages et repartir à Copenhague demain!

Mon séjour en Suède n'était pas uniquement des vacances, j'ai quand même travaillé un peu aussi... J'ai notamment fait un saut rapide à Stockholm pour visiter le salon Formex! Objectif: faire le plein d'inspiration et trouver des nouveaux produits pour le shop.

I hope you've had a great summer! As you might have noticed, I took some time off... After having spent some family time in Sweden these last few weeks, I'm back in Paris since last night only to repack my bags and leave for Copenhagen tomorrow!

My stay in Sweden was not all about vacation, I also did some work... Like a quick trip to Stockholm to visit the Formex fair for example! Goal: fill up on inspiration and find some new products for the shop.



Vous avez peut-être déjà vu plein de photos de Formex sur les blogs scandinaves, alors je ne vais pas vous ennuyer avec un compte rendu complet du salon... Mais si ce n'est pas le cas ou si vous en voulez encore, voici mes impressions et coups de coeur!

Pour résumer, j'ai vu du cuivre absolument PARTOUT, pas mal de laiton, beaucoup de gris sobre mais aussi des endroits l'éclectiques et colorés ("Eclectic touch" était d'ailleurs le thème de Formex cette fois-ci), et plein de produits en bois et en rotin. Je n'ai rien vu de très innovant, mais j'ai trouvé quelques jolis objets quand même.

You might have seen quite a few pictures from Formex already on the Scandinavian blogs so I won't bore you with a complete review of the fair... But in case you haven't or still want more, here are my impressions and favourites from the fair!

To sum up, I saw copper absolutey EVERYWHERE, quite a lot of brass, lots of sober grey but also eclectic and colorful areas ("Eclectic touch" was the theme of this Formex btw), and many products in wood and rattan. I didn't see anything really innovative, but I did find a few nice things.



House Doctor a montré plein de beaux produits comme d'habitude, mais cette année leur stand était aussi beaucoup plus aéré, clair et inspirant que les années précédentes (la 1ère photo du post vient aussi de leur stand).

La marque suédoise Tell me more était une nouvelle connaissance dont j'ai beaucoup aimé les coussins tricotés et les bougies parfumés avec leurs boites graphiques.
Swedish brand Tell me more was a new acquaintance and I really liked the knitted cushions and the sented candles with graphic boxes.

La marque danoise H. Skjalm P. a lancé des vases, pots et plateaux dans des matériaux tendances: cuivre, laiton et marbre.

Katarina Stark a crée une superbe collection de vases+arrosoir qui était nominée pour le prix Formex Formidable.

Dans la partie Young Designers j'ai trouvé ce tabouret sympa et étonnement confortable, créé par Patrik Nilsson.

Dans la même zone: une sublime lampe-chapeau créé par Bymars. La photo qui se trouvait sur le stand était presque aussi jolie que la lampe elle-même.
