I find it extremely relaxing and almost meditating to slowly balance back and forth in a rocking chair... Fortunately, there are a lot of them around these days, both in contemporary and more traditional style. Also, IKEA just released images of this beauty below (top left) that will be launched in August - love it! It actually inspired me to go look for more nice pieces, so here comes a selection of 12 rocking chairs in different styles, colours and budgets, for indoor and outdoor use. More and more furniture brands are launching their own accessories collections these days, and I'm happy to see that also a traditional brand like Fritz Hansen is following that trend. During the Milano fair next week Fritz Hansen will be presenting a collection of 12 objects for the home, designed by Danish and international designers like Jaime Hayon, Studio Roso and Wednesday Architecture. A nice way of perpetuating the Danish tradition of beautiful timeless design and high quality craftsmanship.

Raw, modern and unique were the key words when this Danish family decided to build their dream house. The result is a four storey building in concrete, wood and glass with a rather minimalist expression. I'm a big fan of the beautiful wooden planks from Dinesen which have been used not only as flooring but also to create the stairs and some of the furniture, eg. dining table, bed and bathroom storage.

Brut, moderne et unique étaient les mots clés lorsque cette famille danoise a décidé de faire construire sa maison de rêve. Le résultat est un bâtiment de quatre étages en béton, bois et verre avec une expression plutôt minimaliste. Je suis une grande fan du superbe plancher en bois de chez Dinesen, dont les planches n'ont pas seulement été utilisées au sol mais aussi pour créer l'escalier et une partie du mobilier, notamment la table à manger, le lit parental et le mobilier de la salle de bain.

After a hectic last week which left little time for blogging unfortunately, we finally traveled up to Sweden yesterday. Now I'm just going to enjoy a week of doing nothing besides playing board games, reading books, putting on five kilos thanks to my mum's cooking and then taking long walks in the countryside trying to get rid of the same kilos.
